TOC Error

Hi Folks

I am trying to compile one build in AIX 4.3.3-11 but i am getting the following error:-

ld: 0711-781 ERROR: TOC overflow. TOC size: 66352 Maximum size: 65536

Recently i have upgraded AIX 4.3.3 to maintenance level 11 and installed IBMCxx compiler version 5 on it.Can anyone help me on this.

hi ,

Have a look at your /etc/security/limits entry for rss and stack , either increase this or set to -1 which means unlimited. Also How much memory have you got installed ?

Apart from checking ulimits for rss and stack also check
the .toc file and the specific file system size where it is being created.
