TOC doesn't appear correctly

Hello,

For some reason now, my contents show up as {TOC \h \z \u}.

Sure I can change to the normal look with alt + F9 and save it but when I open the doc again it reverts back to the toggled look above.

In fact any doc I open now, the contents shows up as {TOC \h \z \u} or some variation.

My pictures also change to something like (EMBED…)

Anyone have an idea?

As you observe, you can change the display with Alt+F9. If the setting keeps returning it suggests you have some code changing it. Have you installed any new addins recently?
