To view Asp on another PC over the internet

Hi I am new to ASP I have IIS installed on my computer and also a ASP page.

I have diplayed My ASP page using localhost.

If I know my IP address can I view my ASP page over another PC in the Internet or is the localhost just for testing only and I need a web Hosting company.

Pls advise

You pc will have an ip address of 127.0.0.1 which every pc has, so without going into the intricacies you can't.

127.0.0.1 is a loopback network connection. It is not going to be your IP address when accessed from the internet.

If your on an intranet you can enter your pc name in place of localhost.
ie. if your pc has a name of MyPC123 (you should be able to find the pc name by typing hostname in a dos prompt) then from a nother pc enter the url

http://MyPC123/myasppage.asp

Dunno about over the internet tho
