to verify portfast

HI,

If I'd set portfast on cisco switches for edge devides such as client computers, how do I verify the portfast command is enable properly??

switchport access vlan 10
switchport mode access
spanning-tree portfast

...


Switch#sh spann int f0/1 portfast
no spanning tree info available for FastEthernet0/1


I guess I did it properly but there is no spanning-tree...
what's wrong?

If the port is down then you will get the output you posted. If the port is up add the word 'detail' to the end of your original command and one of the lines states whether the port is in portfast mode.

Also, when you plug a node in, it should go from amber to green within like 3 seconds, instead of 50 seconds.
