Hello anybody that can help. We are running straight ms access and about 3000 records in about 50 tables,we have several different locations that need access to some data, but not all. the problem is we have the database in a local server and they do not have access to it or its too slow. We are planning on going to ASP pages but dont know if the datatbase will handle without breaking. also need to know if we are better off running a front end at the users end or just hosting on the server. Please help!

If you were to go to ASP, you've got to to do most of the work again so you might as well move the data into something like MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle etc. If you decide to keep Jet then it should easily cope with your volumes.

Another option to consider is replication.

Thanks for the help, I'm still unclear as if we go to ASP pages and stay jet will we have a problem if they access the pages remotely. Do you think its just better to move to an ODBC driver. we dont plan on having more than 5000 records on file at the same time and its all the HR, Payroll, travel, and some other minor things.

If you use ASP, the database is accessed locally. The users access the web server remotely but the web server and ASP are running Jet locally. This should minimise crashes as Jet has only one client.
