The design of this site made it impossible for me to access the text area to type in a response to your problem.

The problem is with a detail visible in your first posting: The type="javascript" isn't valid. It should be type="[red]text[/red]/javascript".

I missed it because I'm so used to seeing language="javascript" that I didn't see you used the word type instead. For the sake of the browsers that don't recognize jscript, change it to what I've posted above and it should work fine.

another type'o bites the dust ;-) good job Lee!

Thanks. The code looked fine to me, and I tried it over and over on my computer. Then I had IE validate it (through the MS developer's toolbar) and the W3C validator showed that type="javascript" wasn't valid. I just didn't catch that detail.

yeah, it's real easy to miss stuff like that, even when typing I submit before checking and think shoot, I made a boob (as you well know ;-) thanks!)

I believe they hadn't even fully typed javascript
Code:
type="jscript"
