To be able to go broadband and enable both computers to access the internet I believe I have to get a router and not just the ordinary broadband modem.
Can anyone tell me what I actually need to buy. My iMac 800 mhz 80 gb 256 Ram is running OSX 2.2.4 [hoping to upgrade to 2.5 once on broadband.] has an ethernet port.....
the pc is 433 celeron 111 with Win 98 , 30 gb+8gb... 256 Ram, has USB hub and 1 firewire port free.

Would this enable them to be networked too or do I need to do something else.

kind thoughts

Using my PC Celeron111 433mhz, 30Gb+8GB 256 RAM WinME
iMac OSX 10.2.4 17"Flat panel 80gb,800mhz,256 Ram, Superdrive

IMO the best way for you to go would be to get a router with built in broadband modem and ethernet switch such as the Solwise SAR-715 you will also need an ethernet card for the PC and network cables
Lots of useful mainly UK info can be found at -

thankyou I will research these costs.
