I'm using a Nvidia TNT2 Ultra graphics card and when i play 3D games such as Medal of honor, the screen blanks out and the com switches off with a beep sound. It always happens when i'm playing games and doesnt happen when using other applications....pls help thanks

Straight away?? or after a while playing?
If it's after a while then it could be heat related, make sure all fans are spinning properly (CPU & GPU fans)
the little 40mm fans on the graphics cards are a little prown to seizing.
Monitor CPU max temps when it locks, 60C+ is the bombing out zone.
Have you updated Dirext X drivers to latest 8a? if not then do so then update your Nvidia drivers to the latest.
Gaming does tend to make everything work hard and generate lots of heat.
Think about case fans if needed. Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.

Yeh it happens after about 5-10mins of playing, I've not yet updated the Direct X drivers and I'm going to do so ASAP, thanks alot

dude I have had this problem before, and as a work around and if you load the latest compatible drivers and still have problemsa what I did was download a overclocking util for my video card and I actually UNDERclocked it so it would stop overheating worked like a charm..
js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

Thanks alot FatesWebb cos I'm still having problems with it, where did u download that overclocking device? Thanks.

i have been having the same EXACT problem and its VERY annoying.i would like to know where to get this underclocking util also

Sorry Mikelo2k, I have to disagree. I'm running a TNT2 on a 1200 Thunderbird running Windows XP Pro, and have not have any problem with crashes, etc. I'm using the latest (23.11, I think) reference drivers from nVidia.

I have seen reports of crashes with the following configurations under XP: nVidia TNT2/GF2, VIA chipset, with the latest nVidia drivers. Some people say older nVidia drivers (ie. version 12.41 driver for 2000) helps. I've used this driver on some systems to play older titles which wouldn't run with the newer drivers (Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed).

Also keep in mind that there are known voltage issues with TNT2/Ultra cards and some VIA Apollo chipset motherboards -- FIC comes to mind. Even though the motherboard claims to support up to 2x AGP, the TNT2/Ultra draws too much voltage. You may expect random reboots, frequent BSODs, games that dump back to the desktop, etc.

Good luck...

Well i am pretty sure it is the drivers conflicting with the built in XP, but to be honest with u i really dont care what it is as long as there is a solution to it. I got many fans in my case and temperatures are well below over heating temps and card runs great on ME and below. But its just something with XP that doesnt comply with it :x

I used to play MOHAA too, and had the EXACT same prob as Bing85.

Do any of u guys got a working old driver version? or perhaps another solution?

You can get old drivers from
Once there, search for "archive", and one of the links is "Where can I download older drivers". Select that one, and choose the OS.

Thanx for the info dude :) But my problem is i need to know which driver would work. I prefer to get a quick straight answer from someone's experience rather then spend a few days installing and uninstalling every nVidia driver ever made :-(

Thanx 4 all :)
