Hello,
with the worksheet I execute this SQL command:
select sysdate from dual@asea

asea is a DB link correctly configured.
If I shutdown the SID asea the following
message after about 50 sec. appear:

ORA-12535: TNS:eek:peration timed out

How can I reduce this time to 10 sec.??

Thanks
Fabio

Find the listener.ora file, and update the CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER parameter.

Usually, the listener.ora can be found at $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory.

Thanks rcurva,
I tried to set CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER = 10 but I had always the same result (about 50 sec)

select sysdate from dual@asea
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-12535: TNS:eek:peration timed out

Have you restarted your listener after updating the listener.ora file?
