I'm trying to setup a new V/C unit, at the moment the v/c unit does not pickup the BRI circuits when we connect them and I just need to clarify the wiring from the TN556D circuit pack.

So I have created at WCBRI station on 01a1301, and therefore will be on the W-BL and the W-O pairs from the TN556D.

Now we think the v/c unit is using the S/T interface and therefore we will be using the W-BL and W-G pairs on the CAT5 lead.

Does anoybody know the correct order in which to connect the pairs from the TN566D to the CAT5 lead???

Cheers

If I remember correctly the old BRI two pair packs used the w/b w/g/ to work. It is going to get swapped around a bit on a cat 5 jack. you could use the USOC RJ-45 jack and use the above wiring scheme.

On a cat 5 568A wiring scheme you should be able to use the
w/b to the b/w b/w to w/b and the second pair to the o/w and w/o to reverse the pairs on the jack. The pins you are after are 4,5,3,6.

Thanks phoneguy but I already looked at that and it doesn't really tell what I need to know.

do some units have the ni-1 built into them. if so the handoff would be the u interface (2 wire). You would need a
bri 2198 card which is a 2 wire handoff.
