Does anyone have the set of commands needed to perform a ftp transfer of the new firmware for a tn2602? I know how to enable filex on the pbx. I also know how to do the cha firm down command and entries in that screen. I just don't know the instructions on the commands from the CLI to ftp the file.

It sounds like you have most of the work done. The missing part is to get the firmware loaded to the PBX.

Step 1: Get the IP address of the board that you will be updatin the firmware on. You should find it in the node-name table (list node-name).

Step 2: Go to the Avaya website and download the correct firmware for the board that you are working on. Check the hardware versions.

Step 3: On your PC get to a Command prompt (run then 'cmd'). CD to the location where you put the firmware file. Do 'dir tn2602ap*'.

Step 4: FTP the file from your PC to the TN2602 (ftp [IP address], login using the login & password created in the 'filex' command.

Step 5: Type the word 'binary'.

Step 6: Type 'put tn2602ap-Hx-fxx.bin'. Substituting the correct values for the x's.

Step 7: After the file is transferred, type the word 'bye' to exit the FTP command and then close the DOS window.

Step 8: In the PBX type 'list directory bo [slot]' using the slot of the TN2602 to be updated. Copy the file name to paste into the 'change frmware' command.

Thanks.. much appreciated. We are unable to ftp from anywhere on the company network to the board. We had to directly connect to the board to get the transfer to work. Network admins say nothing is blocking ftp and the board replies to pings. Is there something blocking that on the pbx/board end?

I did have one board that wouldn't take the fw upgrade nor it's existing. I'm assuming AVAYA will ship me out a new board. Are they plug and play or do I have to do any config logging into the board?

Have you tried unplugging the card, and re-seating it? Sometimes those TN2602AP cards get in a crazy state, and rebooting and initializing the card again, allows it to work the next time you try the update.

Yes, reseated the board and also swapped the ethernet adapter on the back. Still nothing

Try connecting to the board with WinSCP... See what error message is gives.
