Hello friends,

I have been using phantom TN's quite extensively lately and was wondering if phantom TN's count against your regular TN licenses. For example, if I had 10 licenses and built 5 phantom, will that decrease my licenses to 5 or will I continue to have 10?

Thanks in advance

It counts against your TN count, thats why I use ACD's instead.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

ace is right, i got back almost 300 lic when i removed all the soft phones and relaced them with maxp 1 acd... a lot of them were just left in junk that didn't even work or soft mb's that hadn't been checked in years..

Phantoms and Virtual TNs do not count against you TN license. That's checking release 3, 4, and 4.5, didn't bother to check on a 5.0

You have in the SLT for TNs: Analog, Digital, IP and TNs. You pay for Analog, Digital and IP - the TNs field is maxed out and you pay for that when you bought the PBX - a 1 time purchase. - on CS1KS it set at 25000 and that's for trunks and phantoms.

Thank you friends. I looked at my Phantom TN's in LD 10 and it
says that I have 32695 left. I guess my question was, do Phantoms counts against my regular licenses. I do appreciate the responses.

yes, the tn count is not the problem, the dig lic is what they charge for now

Nortel doesn't charge for phantom TN licenses - everybody gets the maximum.
If you have a maintenance provider that charges by the TN they might be billing you for phantoms. They shouldn't be since there is no hardware involved.

agree, phantom has their own SLT count and does not tax your TN count.

digital/analog/IP tax your tn count as yy stated.

correction: DOES tax tn on 3.0
