We are going to migrate our Tivoli environment onto a new machine that we are currently building. Current, the TME server is running on AIX 4.3.3. Is there any benefit to making the new system AIX 5.1 or 5.2 or would it be better to leave it at 4.3.3? Thanks for any insight.

TME migration

When looking to migrate to newer software, this question comes up quite a bit. The answer is always yes. New software with new capabilities and fixes to old problems and of course, compatibility and supportability. Older software becomes less likely to be supported as the software levels become outdated with the newer versions.
