Morning everyone,

I have recently added a TMDI card to our option 11.
There are 2 functioning TMDI cards already active(slot 1 being the CC)
I have added this particular TMDI to slot 3.
I was able to get the d-channel and all of the b-channels built.
Enabled the TMDI.
Connected a crossover cable between the option 11 an the Cisco.

When I enll 3 all of the b-channels are in disabled state.
The D-channel goes into OPER mode but then RLS.

There is a red alarm light and also an amber light on the card DCH indicator.

It looks like I have the T1E set up properly but the d-channel is not talking to the Cisco.

Not real sure why the T1E has not come up.
Maybe a bad crossover cable or a defective TMDI card.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you,
CommoGuy101

Are you able to "loop" the RJ45 connections to see if the card enables?. Also, do the same at the Cisco end. You might also need to check that each end uses the same protocol.

FirebirdScrambler,
As soon as I can get on site I will place a loopback on the RJ45.
Any idea why the DCH LED is amber...(should it be green)(is it amber because it is in red alarm)
The red LED is lit as well ..I know that indicates a red alarm.

Thank you,

I tend to work on PRI circuits with 30 channels and I'm not that clued up with protocols for other regions, but it would indicate to me that you have incompatibility set in the configuration of your programming.

Here is some information that may assist you below with 3 records found.

Unable to get D channel to come up between Meridian and Cisco 2600 series routers

Answer

Problems getting D channel and loop to come up between a meridian and a Cisco 2610 router. In this case the Cisco 2610 was expecting to see ACRC set to yes. This was changed to no and the respective change made on the meridian as well. The D channel then came up. (All other parameters as per recommended settings).

Sample configuration as below:
QSIG (ESGF4) to Cisco 2610 series router.

PRI card set to 75 Ohm Coax.
Coax75 ohm to RJ45 125 Ohm converter used to connect to router.

NB, ACRC set to no on the respective loop timer in overlay 73

Just a quick thought, as long as the T1 is in RED alarm the state of the D channel and associated B channels really don't matter. The D channel requires a good T1 circuit before it will come up, many RED alarm conditions are hardware related, bad cable, card , wrong pin outs etc. The RED alarm is telling you that your card either does not see the T1 circuit or can't read what it is getting. The loopback test suggested should help narrow that down.

Thanks drifter,
I will try the loop back
BTW this is a T1E from the option 11 to Cisco gateway.
I will start with the loop back and replace the hardware just in case.

Thank you all for your help,
CommoGuy101
