tm88iv Printing issue

Hi all, i have a printing issue with a Epson TM-T88IV.
This printer has a parallel port but my (new win 10 pro) laptop only has usb's.
i purchased a Parallel to USB cable plugged it all in "Added" the new printer on the port "it" created (Port = ESDPRT003 desc = LPT2)but i am unable to even print a test page.
i have also tried a couple of other "USB" ports but get the sane error.

i have been able to print a windows test page from this printer connected to an old desk to PC (win 7) that has a parallel port so i know the printer is operational.

any help or suggestione greatly appreciated.

What software/version are you using with the Printer?

Hi Hosehead78, the drivers i downloaded were version 2. something.
strange thing is the Zip file has disappeared from my d/loads folder???

Do you know of better drivers??

What POS System are you using?

its not a "POS" system as such, its automotive retail software and basically just needs to print from windows.

Setup the Printer in windows as a Generic Text printer and see how that works.

Here's a link for the Epson Printer drivers and such. The IV isn't listed, but they should work.

I would bet your problem is the cable or drivers. Many of the USB to serial type cables I've come across fail, I would assume the same with USB to parallel might have the same issues. There should be drivers for the cable, it won't work without them loaded.
