Hey All, I have a question regarding the font printing size from Device Printers, specifically an EPSON TM-U220B. I know of the dip switch settings for CPL, which is not what I want. I've looked through the manual and cannot find the setting for Font size. Does anyone know of a setting to get the size smaller that what it prints out as? I know in Micros you can get it to print double the size, but not smaller.

System: Micros 9700 v3.60

I've noted in the screen shot below the character length.

The font size is determined by Micros internally.

Epson has a command set which Micros use to print on these printers. Part of these commands is the font, font size and other formatting options.
Micros exposes the option to print "wide" which is a larger font and larger spacing.

Unfortunately you cannot change anything to make the font smaller for the receipts and orders.

Do you want some custom SIM scripts developed. Contact me via my website

I don't know if it's available on 9700 systems, but Micros snuck a neat little option into the 3700 starting with 4.8. It's an order device option called "print single wide", and it does just what you're looking for.

@pmegan, Ok, I'll take a look for that option and see if it's there. I don't recall it but I will look for it.

Under Order device options, the option I see that would be closest to this is the "Print Menu Items in Double Font Width and Height; Apply to IP Printer Only".

If there is an option to print the price on the order device, it might print the name in single font.

Much better, need to see if this flys with the Managers and Cooks... I'm sure the cooks don't care.
9700 > Menu Item Maintenance, under Classes, Options Tab for selected Class, Check Option #13.
