Hi again!! I have a stand alone TM 4.0 server (XP SP2) that when I use the web service to transmit a change, the log window will open and close within miliseconds....I remember that on 3.0 and 3.1, stooping and restarting IIS would be the fix, however, that does not work now.

This same server worked fine using 3.0. We did the upgrade, no luck...uninstalled-reinstalled twice, still no luck....JRE is correct version...

What am I missing?

Thanx,
Dan

Our company just did an upgrade from 3.1 to 4.0 also..
the vendor told us we must upgrade 3.1 to 3.2...then upgrade 3.2 to 4.0. ... is that the procedure you followed ?

yes...that's what we did the first time. TAC's solution was to uninstall and reinstall...still didn't work...that's why I came here....

Are you finding no errors ? ? Are you sure your passwords are correct in system setup ? ? ?

I have had this occur a couple of times. When I used Task Manager I found Java taking up lots of CPU time. Rebooting the TM machine fixed the issue.

Also, do you have the latest TM service update installed?

Besides having the correct version selected in the Tomcat properties, I had to actually remove the other versions of java to get everything to work correctly.

Thanx for all of the suggestions/ideas but I have exausted all of those thoughts with the exception of one....NHPHONEGUY, what do you mean in reference to Tomcat...I'll take a look at its properties, and I am leaning in that direction....There is only one version of Java, the one that was part of the install CD....I'll poke around

thx

UPDATE....I don't know what I did. I went back and looked at the Java properties, unchecked previous versions that had been uninstalled and it worked.....went back to Java properties and those two previous (uninstalled) versions were re-listed and rechecked.....beats me

Makes me like UNIX even more.....
