Can TM 3.1 be installed to run as a server on to an XP machine running sp3? The Nortel easy to follow install docs states No! but i wondered if anyone go it to work?
The Nortel Communication Server 1000 (CS 1000) Telephony Manager Release 3.1 (TM 3.1) is an evolution of the Telephony Manager Release 3.0 (TM 3.0) that provides an integrated suite of management tools for configuration, control and analysis of a CS 1000 and Meridian 1 (M1) network. Specifically, TM 3.1 offers:
• Concurrency support to CS 1000 Release 5.0 features
• Concurrency support to CS 1000 Release 4.5 features
• Management support for new phone types
• Integrated alarms support for Survivable Remote Gateway (SRG) 50
• Telephony Manager 3.1 enhancements including DECT enhancement and integration with Common Network Directory (CND) 2.1
TM 3.1 GA build is TM 3.10.28.41.
2 System Overview
2.1 Installation
Installation of TM 3.1 as a Server/Standalone requires the Internet Information Services with World Wide Web Publishing Service and FTP Service to be present.
2.2 Microsoft
For co-residency support of Microsoft Office with TM, Microsoft Office must be installed on the PC first before TM is installed. Otherwise TM will not work properly.
2.3 TM Windows and Web Navigators
TM provides both Windows and Web navigators to perform TM operations
2.4 Platform Changes
TM now supports both Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition in release 3.1.
2.5 Supported Upgrade Paths
TM 3.1 supports the following upgrade paths:
• Direct upgrade from OTM 2.21 and TM 3.0 to TM 3.1
• 2-step upgrade for OTM 1.20, 2.0, 2.01 or 2.1 to OTM 2.2 first and then to TM 3.1
• Upgrade from OTM 1.0, 1.01 or 1.1 to TM 3.1 is done as a new install through an upgrade code
Upgrade packages of MAT, the predecessor of OTM, will no longer be available.

2.14 OS and Browser Requirements
2.14.1 OS Support English TM Configurations are supported on the following operating systems:
• Windows Server 2000/2003 + Windows XP Professional client
• Windows Server 2000/2003 + Windows 2000 Professional client
• Windows Server 2000/2003 Standalone
• Windows 2000 Professional standalone
• Windows XP Professional standalone
TM 3.1 cannot be installed on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 Advanced Server or Datacenter Server. For Windows Server 2000, only the Standard Edition is supported. For Windows Server 2003, only the Standard Edition and the Enterprise Edition are supported.
Windows Server 2003 R2 is not supported.
