TLS - SIP Trunk Providers

I'll do some checking , from memory it is between MBg and provider but not yet between MBg and Pabx
- using latest releases ( miVB 8 and MBg 10)

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Hi Bill, thank you for your reply.

What you say makes sense, that it's the MBG that does the TLS to the provider. In that case, won't the provider have to submit a CA Certificate that we then need to import onto the MBG? Where do we import that on the MBG?

I have been reading both the MBG and MiVB Eng. Guidelines/Help and when they mention TLS is for end points, for MiCollab Clients mainly. However you see TLS everywhere in the forms for Network Elements, SIP Peers, and even in the SIP Trunks on the MBG.

Honestly this is my first time trying to connect trunks with a SIP provider that requires TLS, there aren't many these days that use TLS.

MiVB Help online says the following under Call Signaling Security: "TLS on SIP trunks is not supported."

I have raised a ticket with Mitel Support and they are investigating, they say they have never come across this requirement in the past.

regards,

daniel

i think i jumped the gun

i also had a look through the eng guidelines and couldnt find any support yet for TLS with trunks
there is TLS support for SIP softphone connections

would be interested to see what mitel have to say , I swould imaging that its on the roadmap , perhaps scheduled same time as MiVb 9 maybe ( Q4 2018)

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
