Tivoli / IBM Director integration 1

I've read that the IBM Director client integrates with Tivoli, but I've never heard of anyone actually doing this. We have the Director client installed in our environment, and we also use Tivoli. I'm just wondering :
1. What tangible benefits would be realized by integrating the two.

2. What would be involved? How hard is it, how well does it work, etc.

I use it to:

Director monitors hardware and sends a message to Tivoli's TEC which in turn creates a trouble ticket in Remedy with my help desk that a piece of hardware is broke or gonna be breaking soon.

Remedy is a help desk Trouble ticket application.
