I have a brand new Titanium and I love it! I do have an issue that I can't seem to solve. Upon every startup I get an 2 error messages.

The first one states "To run this application you need a Internet connection. Please connect to your online service. To connect through a LAN or ISP, open the TCP/IP controll panel and select the appropriate settings."
I don't have a network nor do I have anything in my Startup Folder that wants to connect to the internet.

The second one come right after "Network Time Error - Your Macintosh's clock is set to year before 1973. This may cause applications to behave erratically. please use Date & Time control panel to set the clock manually."
I have set the clock manually but get the same errors upon my next startup.

Can someone please help?!?!?!

Have you got an up to date virus checker on there?

Sounds suspicious to me.

I have a virus checker and I'll run it based on your response but the computer was brand new! It should'nt have any issue like that at all.

no did you get more memory for it a lot of time type 2 is memory do you what os it has 9.1 or X on it. So long and thanks for all the fish.

I think I understand your question.
I'm running system 9.1 and have 384MB of RAM.

It's probably one of the internet set-up extensions. There are several. First, check your system folder/startup items and see if anything is in there. That could be the culprit. If not, then it's a trip to extensions manager. I can't tell you what they are off the top of my head, I'm at work on my PC. There's AMD (automatic modem detector) and a few others. They usually get run the very first time you boot your computer, and you don't see them again. If you don't have luck figuring them out I'll get you a list monday.

I would appreciate a list very much. Thank you

error type 2 is not normally memory - normally fonts, but the question was there are 2 errors not error type 2...

Go to extensions manager and choose base settings and restart. See if you get your error. You should not. In that case add them bit by bit until you work out which extension is causing the problem.

it might be internet related but also check your ppp and tcpip settings in control panels.

After about a lengthy trial and error restart session I finally found both culprits. If anyone has those problems turn off the following extentions in the extentions control panel:

Time Synchronizer - Looks for a network clock
AOL Link Scanner - You knew AOL had to be the problem again!

Thank you all for your help.
