Hallo people,

My mailserver us getting old. And I am getting fed up with sendmail. What would you wise people recomend as replacement? Postfix? Qmail? Any great links appreciated.

Excellent. This is for RedHat, would the preocedures be (almost) the same on Debian?

Deb has pckgs for qmail, etc. I know qmail with vpopmail doesn't come out of the packages just right. I would recommend the webmail guide from the prior thread as an excellent walk-thru to deploy virtual domains. Otherwise, I'm sure any Deb package would do you right.

Surfinbox.com Business Internet Services - National Dialup, DSL, T-1 and more.

Thanks ! Time to try it out I guess.

Count one vote for postfix. It's extremely easy to configure, and the author knows more than his share about security (two points to anyone who can name one or more projects Wietse did with Dan Farmer).

Cheers,

~kj

I implement SME servers regularly. They use Qmail. No problems thus far!

Postfix and spamassassin with amavisd-new.
One vote.
