timing out in 5 minutes

Hi,
It has been about 4 years since my last post, but I am finally getting back into cisco products. I guess I need to start at the basics - I am using the software client to connect to a Cisco 501 - the connection drops after about 5 minutes of idle time, I would like to increase this, and am only good with the GUI. Can someone tell me how to increase the timeout of an idle session?
