Hi all :)

I am having a problem setting timesync to adjust back 5 minutes - I issue
the command
timesync time adjustment = -00:05:00 but it never adjusts!

Our setup is 4 Netware servers:

1 server is set as SINGLE and the other 2 as secondary with first server as
source - they do keep in sync with the SINGLE. No errors appear in the
timesync debug and they claim to be in sync.

The 4th server is one that has crashed but still exists in the tree
A dsrepair timesync shows sync'd to the 3 available servers ok, could not
connect to server 625 error for unavailable one

DSTrace shows no errors apart from:
47147D2C:111:93d0a0a0:047 * Sync failed to communicate with server
<.xxxx.xxxx.xxxxx.TREE.>, error transport failure (-625).
47147D2C:136:93d0a0a0:047 Sync - Partition - Server.SCOTCALL_TREE.,
.xxxx.xxxx.xxxxx.TREE. Server processed = NO

We have been seeing slow times for password resets and a few GroupWise
issues which are probably due to this dead server - this is planned for
removal this weekend - but would it affect the timesync across the other
(alive) servers in this way?

Any tips what I can check?

Cheers
Neil

I can't say that your time problem is related to the server being down. But, if that server is not coming back up in its current form and if there are no replicas on that machine that are unique to that server, I wouldn't waste any time getting it removed from edirectory and all the other server.

Do a "set timesync debug=7" and see that all the servers are talking to each other.

Remove the replicas on that down server ASAP.
