Is there a way to get a Timestamp field in an Oracle table?

hi,
 In oracle database date field itself
contains timestamp also.

Nagendra P.

Date datatype includes date and time and you can write a database trigger to automatically insert or update any column using sysdate... as in
select sysdate into :MyDateColumn from dual;
