In 2003 and presumably other versions - if you set your time scale to show say week numbers - all is well until you zoom in or out. The time scale goes back to the starting scale. Is there any way to stop this. We use this timescale all the time.

Many thanks for any help here

No. This is "working as designed" - by clicking on Zoom... you are implicitly telling MS Project to change the timescale.

Project supports 1 level of undo. After clicking Zoom... and choosing the display option, you can restore the original display by clicking on the UnDo button.

You could also record a macro as you set up the display you like, save it and link it to a button. Clicking on the button will set your standard display. The only drawback is that the date range you see in the Gantt chart may not start or finish where you want ... you'll have to drag the slider along the bottom to position it precisely. (A small price to pay for the ability to define the granularity of the display so precisely.)
