I know that there is a timer while you are on a call, but is there a timer that can be set on an 18D without being on a call?
Kinda like setting a timer on your microwave just to keep track of time?

If there is such a feature on the R7, I haven't seen it yet.

There is a feature that will ring an extension at a specified time (sort of like a hotel motel wakeup call). Other than that I haven't seen a stand alone timer function on the Partner ACS R7.

The 22D & 34D Merlin Classic telephone sets had an elapsed time feature that could be activated by pushing a button.

You could program an unused line on a button on the phone you are using and label it timer. But be careful it will act just like a line appearance without dial tone.

Ah, so program a button on the phone to be a line with no dial tone and use that as a timer.
That will work?

or you could by a 5.99 digital kitchen timer ...
