Hi all,

We are trying to synchronize all of our servers, most of them are within the same network segment(89.xxx.xxx.xxx),and they all perfectly sync through timed, but other servers are in an other segment (172.xxx.xxx.xxx)
I've read that you can specify the parameter "-n" so that timed includes network ranges.
Can I use the following syntax :
timed -S -n 172.16/16 , or must I specify the IP adress of every host I wish to sync with: timed -S -n 172.16.xxx.xxx -n 172.16.xxx.xxx ?

Thx in advance

What's the -S flag supposed to do? It's not mentioned on the timed man page, are you sure it's available in AIX?

As far as the -n switch, IBM's pretty vague about it, but I've seen other instances when they said "network number" and meant something like 176.16.0.0. You shouldn't have to specify individual host IP addresses. I'd try network numbers in this order: 176.16.0.0, 176.16, 176.16/16.
