Time validation 24HR clock

Hi there, sorry for the newb question but i just can't get my head around any of the scripts out there.
All i need is a time validation for a 34hr clock, the user would enter in the format HH:MM and anything else would not be accepted.

thank you in advance...

Make a dropdown list with 00 through 23 in it, and another dropdown list next to it with 00 through 59 in it. That will save a lot of time figuring out how to validate things.
