Running win2k server with win2k clients. The desktop time on my computer is correct, with the correct time zone. My clients also have the correct time zone. But when they log in, the day is set to yesterday. If they reset it to today, it gets pushed back again when they log in. We're right across the date line if that has anything to do with it. How do I keep this from happening?

Thanks!

Windows-based computers use the following hierarchy by default:

All client desktop computers nominate the authenticating domain controller as their in-bound time partner.

All member servers follow the same process as client desktop computers.

Domain controllers may nominate the primary domain controller (PDC) operations master as their in-bound time partner but may use a parent domain controller based on stratum numbering.

All PDC operations masters follow the hierarchy of domains in the selection of their in-bound time partner.

Following this hierarchy, the PDC operations master at the root of the forest becomes authoritative for the organization, and you should configure the PDC operations master to gather the time from an external source.

Either use net time /setsntp:externaltimeserver.net

Subsitute your favorite time server for externaltimeserver.net, or make the PDC emulator in the forest root authoritative as in:

Hi there

To find out the time of your Authoritative Time Server
cmd line; NET TIME
The is should return
Current time at \\SERVER is 1/26/2004 10:08 PM. If this is correct great.
If not, At the server Check the System Default Regional Settings NOT current user settings.

You can also make sure the workstations use the DC to sync time and sync the DC with

cmd line
NET TIME /SETSNTP:"tick.usno.navy.mil tock.usno.navy.mil"
'Works fine whatever country your in

And/Or add "net time \\servername /SET /YES" to your login scripts

Also time sync info on Hope this helps
