time synch and timed/xntpd

hi all
Can any body help me in making choice b/w xntpd and
timed for tie synch b/w RS6000 servers....which one
is suitable for which scenerio???
Also what is the correct procedure for
setting timed...docs said just start timed at server and
all clients having entry for that server in /etc/hosts
will get updated time automatically...Any corrections?????
 
try:

1. login as root, then type;

# smit ->system environments ->change / show data and time

***you can check each options according to your preference.

- change / show date and time
- change time zone using system defined values
- change time zone using user inputted values

2. you can select which timezone you're currently belong

'hope it helps you.

note: all users that has access to the system should get the same time/date/zone you specified, once logged in.
