Is there a way to set the MSS to sync with a time server?

In R2.0 for MSS backend, we have a patch M6066pt+d, which will allow you to use your own NTP server to sync time between the MAS's and MSS's. In R3.0 for MSS backend this ability is available but must be activated before it appears on the menu. In 3.1 the menu item will be included in the standard product.

Resolution:

To enable the NTP server screens on the menus you must have command line access. If you do not have command line access, contact MMTAC for assistance (1-800-242-2121). Go to /mtce/bin and execute the following command: enable_ntp_administration. This will now allow you to make the changes via the menus. The menu is located under Basic System Administration -> Date/Time/NTP Server Administration. There is no need to restart/reboot once this is command is executed.

Hmm... a patch. How surprising. Thanks, Ken.
