Could someone post the correct syntax with the name of the time server as I am having problems connecting my PDC to an external time server. At the command prompt I'm typing:

net time/setsntp: \\192.4.41.40

Is this corrected?

Try this:

NET TIME /DOMAIN:'YOUR-DOMAIN-NAME /SET /Y

This should set the same time as your domain controller.

You can have the time on the Windows 2000 FMSO master pull it from an NTP timeserver.

Look hear for the closest NTP server to your location (in your time zone):

The Windows 2000 command is:
net time /SETSNTP: ntp2.usno.navy.mil,tick.usno.navy.mil

Just replace the above servers with the ones closest to you.

Your can run a “net time” on the workstations to see what server they are querying for the current time.

ps I'm assuming that DNS is functional on your server.

Thanks for the info I've tried both of the above, but I'm still getting an event error telling me that the time is unable to syncronize any other suggestions?
