I'm having a problem with the time service. I have the KX-TA624 and the TVS-50. The VPS is set up with the hours for day service. The service mode is set for automatic. If we leave early, I would put the code in to change to night mode. The phone would show night mode when pressing #, but when you would call would still answer as in day mode. I was told to change the service mode to PBX control instead. Now manual changes work, but if in night mode, the next day it will not change back to day mode. I have to remember to manually set it. Has anyone run into this problem? What I want, for example, is to set the day mode for 9-5. If we leave at 3 for the day, be able to set the mode to night mode, and at 9 am the next day it would automatically change to day mode.

Thanks

I doubt the 624 gives you pbx control over the tvs!
so it is what it is!so if you leave early you would
have to connect with laptop and roll your night service back manualy. analog installers please feel free to correct me
if I am wrong!

I am going to retract what I posted earlier. I was just reading through the tvs 50 manual pages 293-294 and according to the manual if you have apits integration set up and I am assuming you do and you have set the voicemail up for pbx control as it shows on page 294 and you have a latest model of the 624 it should evoke night mode on the tvs. although it states that it will do it automatically according to the settings of the pbx it does not actually state that turning night mode on early manualy will evoke night mode on the tvs but one would think it would .having said all that after reading the manual and I am assuming you have if you have followed their instuctions and it does not work it may a revision issue that you have.I do not do enough of the analog so I should not make a snap judgement.

the short version is try service mode in pbx control

I am sorry I shoud have read your original post closer
(very Long work weedend) you need to set up
day and night mode on the 624 and then the tvs should follow suit!

Thanks for all the help, I got it figured out over the weekend and your last post is correct. What is was is that the time service was set up on the tvs. The automatic mode was not working so I changed to pbx mode. I then read the 624 manual closer and found out about setting time frames on the 624. So once I set normal office hours on the 624 and set the tvs to pbx control, the time changes as it is supposed to, and if I change to night mode during the daytime, it does go to night mode (tvs answers with custom service 2) and in the morning, the mode changes to day again.

The bottom line was when it was installed, the time was set on the tvs but not the 624, and when using pbx control, the time changes come off the 624.

Thanks for the help...

glad all the stuff works as advertised
the last guy out the door b4 5:00 has to hit
night mode button, you may want to set up delayed ringing
on the voicemail so if you do leave and you forget
because it happpens .it least the voicemail kicks in after lets say 5-6 rings some people actually prefer this to
the old 9 to 5 because it can run like that 24-7-365
day and night.

Actually, both day and night modes the vps will answer first and then direct the call accordingly, so the vps is immediate and all the other jacks are delayed ringing. Speaking of voicemail, let's say an option is to press 2 for billing and the person in billing either has left early for the day, or is on vacation. I think I understand that if it is normal hours and they don't answer, it goes to the no answer greeting, and if they are on the phone, to the busy greeting. Is the after hours greeting determined by the settings on the 624, the tvs, or manually. If by the 624 or tvs, can they be overidden (as in leaving early).
Also, sometimes you call a place and go to the vm and you get a message like "Today is xxx, and I am in meetings all day today..etc". Which voicemail do you record to for this?

Thanks..

depends really on the voicemail but if you go to music
or ring back you can bet it's the no answer greeting
for your purposes you should have all ext's fwd busy/na
to 165 so if someone does leave early it will at least get to there mailbox . as as the after hours greeting
you will have to record one and see if it is also evoked
by the pbx.
