I have created a few time profiles but they they dont seem to be working.

When the time profile kicked in the hunt group didnt go in to in service. They just stayed in night service.

Any ideas

Thanks
Bill

Keep in mind that Time Profiles do not actually change a status of a Hunt Group. They are simply capable of making a hunt group BEHAVE as if it were in Night Service. So if you have a Tim e Profile specifying 0800 - 1700 Monday through Friday and assign it to a hunt group, any time outside of those hours the hunt group will go to whatever night service group you defined, but the status will never actually change. My understanding is that this was done in this manner so that if you put a group into night service mode manually, like say for a long weekend, it can act as a manual over ride for the Time Profile. Personally - I use Out of Service for that though.

I hope this helps you out.

I tend to use the manual override of n/s for early finnishes & keep out of service for public holidays etc.

is there a way to manually override the time profile to take it out of night service early?

I have the time profile set for m-f 7am-3:30pm. Occasionally someone will get to the office before 7am and they would like to be able to take the system off of night coverage.

you cannot override the group directly
what I doo on hese occasions is create a duplicate of the main group as the Nightservice fallback group for the night service group.
if the night service group is now placed in night service the calls will return to the copy of the main group.

It sounds complicated but does work.

ah, good idea IPGuru...

one question though... if they have put the night service group in night service to be able to revert to a copy of the day coverage, I would assume that they will have to push the Night service/Night service button again to take it off once the normal time profile has taken effect?

I offered the following solution to my site with this issue:

Move the time back on the time profile from 7am to say 5am, then have the receptionist manually put their hunt group in night service each day when they leave, if they get there early they can hit the button to take it off of night coverage at their leisure. The time profile keeps the system in line should the pbx reboot (o my!) during the night.

one more question concerning your solution IPGuru...

is it ok to leave the extension the same on the main and duplicate main as long as they have different names? The fallback routing is done by name, right?

you would need different numbers for the groups
but this shouldnt matter as dialing the original group number internaly will still route to the duplicate group

& yes the the nightservice group would need to be controlled manualy.

As I said , it looks confusing on paper but once the staf get used to it it should be ok
