I have used this patch with almost universal success, on systems as old as those running NT 4.0 and Aloha version 4.268 . However, I now have a site that gets an error saying something about the DLL: SHLWAPI.DLL could not be found when you try to execute it. Is this an Aloha DLL?

I upgraded the clients old NT box to service pack 6a, since that was all I could think of at the time (it worked on another Aloha system with this version of NT). I am still getting the same error message though. The only other thing I could think of was that maybe the BIN execs need to be upgraded to 4.268 (currently 4.260, I believe) to get this to work.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

Explorer DLL. Reinstalling Internet Explorer according to the a couple websites will fix it.

Thanks Bigblock, you were right on the money. I didnt spend a lot of time on the error, but you'd think I would have at least tried to google the DLL. :) I guess I just assumed it was an Aloha problem.

As it turns out, this patch must have been calling on IE to open it's dialog boxes (Click YES to install, NO to continue, etc). After you posted that response, I had the customer check, and it looked like IE was totally absent on this old NT 4.0 system.

The hard part that added insult to injury was that this Aloha PC had no Internet, and this is a very old version of IE. MOST versions you do find are tiny executables that you download, which then download the rest of it to the PC.

I was able to find the old version on OLDVERSION.COM. What a great site this has been over the years. If you're looking for alternative versions to stuff (uhm, like old versions, lol), check this place out.

Last technical note (doubt anyone else will have this same problem, but ya never know): Version IE 401sp2 was the first version to have this file. There was an oler IE version 351 that I almost downloaded, figuring the older for this PC, the more likely it would work. But I was lucky enough to stumble accross a website that explain this, so I got lucky (otherwise I would have thought it didn't work).

This site is awesome. Thanks you again.
