Hello all. I have a client who would like me to try to find a way to restrict the amount of time that certain PDF files can be viewed by his visitors. These are evaulations of his product. I do not want to create a client-side application because of the massive issues involving compatibility... Note that I can convert the PDFs to HTML or whatever other formatting would be supported by the majority of web users. Anyone got any ideas?? Thanx in advance

ErichTheWebGuy, Hi man...hmmm, there is a way to restrict the amount time the user can see a webpage, but not sure how to do in PDF...
PDFs do support JavaScript, so maybe if you could add some JS to PDF you might be able to get that effect...
I found this: maybe you can use it...
Try posting this message in the Acrobat PDF forum...:) I have not failed; I have merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

However, realize that web content is saved to a temporary internet folder on your hard drive. These files are accesible anytime even when not online. When you find your soution it will only discourage rather than prevent. I would say you are wasting time and should have a sample pdf for viewing rather than the complete pdf. DeZiner
