I have set the sntp servers to 0.pool.ntp.org 1.pool.ntp.org 2.pool.ntp.org. However, when checking the time with time.gov it shows that it is 7 minutes fast. Any thoughts?

can the ipo resolved those host names?

I find applying IP addresses is more reliable

I see that 0.pool.ntp.org fails sometimes but then I have two more.
It does not run behind

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Checking the time against time.gov my time is 7 minutes fast using the 0.pool.ntp.org 1.pool.ntp.org 2.pool.ntp.org time servers. What would be causing that?

0.pool.ntp.org doesnt appear to resolve correctly for me. time.gov brings up a nice java based web site with the spot on correct time. 0.pool.ntp.org bring up someones web site. Jonathan Sage.

time.gov does not work for me and 0.pool.ntp.org does and gives the right time.

OK, I have those ntp servers listed and it says that 2.pool.ntp.org does not resolve. But my time is still 7 minutes fast when looking at time.gov, my laptop, and my hosted IP phone time. Why is that?

it works if I enter the ip address for 0.pool.ntp.org

DigitelD, do you have DNS settings in the IPO?
Do you have an IProute in the IPO pointing the gateway?
I think you do but just checking :)

My IP route is 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 X.X.17.1 on Lan1. My DNS settings are the DNS servier from our carrier.

I suggest just use a different time server :)
For me it works fine so i don't understand why it does not for you.
Did you try a reboot of the IPO?
Did you watch monitor? when it is not off that much then it does not change it.
A reboot forces a sync.

I have tried to reboot. Maybe I'll try to shutdown and then power back up. It may work itself out.

Which is fast? Your pc or phone?

I had one once where a domain group policy kept the time from syncing to the ntp source. Had to drop down to dos and issue a time reset. Don't think a domain group policy would affect your phone though.

The IP Office is 7 minutes fast. I just powered down and powered back up and still 7 minutes fast.

gotcha. and sysmon shows the time as being fast also?

You might want to try tlpeters advice and sync to a different source to see if the issue resolves.

Or are you using system status for looking at the time?
There is a bug where system status shows unreal times.
Even times in the past are possible.

The time on the phones have just now synched up. Must have taken time.

You should use System status to check NTP, it will show when the last sync has taken place and which NTP server it used.I always use a NTP server from the dsl provider if possible.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

lately I have seen time from SSA for a date and time in the future. I have been able to uninstall and reinstall to repair.

CarGoSki, it is actually a bug :)
I only cannot find if it is solved or not.
But i recall seeing it mentioned.
