Hi, I'm having a little trouble with some client machines having the wrong time when they create a new email. The Domino Server displays the correct time. The individual machines have the correct time but Notes does not. They are using Notes R4.6. I've had this problem before and for the life of me can't remember what file I had to edit to fix it. It's an hour off so when October comes along, the time will be right but for now people are not happy having the wrong time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One hour off ? I believe that points directly to the time zone settings.
Do the users in question have the option to use the OS time settings activated ?
Check the Location document under the Advanced/Basics tab.
What is the value there ?

I too had this same problem with (AS400)Domino V6 R0, all client machine (win2k) where an hour out. I think it is some kind of bug, for me the fix was to include the following to the notes ini on the domino server, back up first of course but this worked for me. I am in the UK by the way, include this halfway up the ini file not at the end.

DST=1
Timezone=0
DSTLAW=3,-1,1,10,-1,1

Regards
Kingsley

Ok, the client is running Notes R4.6.1. I know we need to upgrade but we're about to switch to Exchange and they won't let me upgrade. I checked under the location document, it's set right, Central time zone. When I looked under notes.ini file the time zone is set at 6. Is that correct for Central time zone? I remember having to change that on a few machines a couple of years ago but I can't remember what I changed it to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just finally got my server up to R 6.0.1 and my client and I love it so far. Thanks!!!

My experience is that this matte could be more tricky - depending on the OS you are using. If you are using AIX or OS/390 there are some extra features to consider. It is not just the Timezone OR the DSTLaw settings that matters. Also the settings on the OS has to be taken care of. If you are using one of these - let us know

No this pc has Windows ME on it. This is the only pc having this problem and the only one with Windows ME. Thanks!!

This is only a sugguestion and it may not work but you could try and change the location on the Me PC notes.ini and match the location with the time differnece you are experiencing................
