Hi

I have a customer with an old ip office 403 3.0 ( 580 ) using 2030 handsets. For some reason the time
isnt updating auto via the time server ip address , havent tried a reboot yet. Just trying to remember if this can be
done from the handset. I have set a handset as a system phone , thinking its a case of pushing the program key then entering the 0000
to get to a time menu. Its a remote cust , he says when he pushes the program key it doesnt ask for a passcode and no menus with time setting etc. Hunting about the manuals but cant see anything re time in the user guide yet , any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Mik

User must have the correct user rights to adjust the time but that is only possible if the timeserver IP addres is set to 0.0.0.1

what have you set the time server IP address to?

An IPO of this age does not talk NTP only the older Unix TIME protocol rfc868, the usual way to provide this is wither form a Voicemail (lite or Pro) server or the Manager application.
I cannot recall anyway of setting the time from a 2030 handset.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I couldn't see anything in the IP Office guide but I found this in the Index guide. It was a while ago but I am sure this was the same for IP Office

Changing the Time
Phones with System Manager status can alter the time set on the system and displayed on phones. The time shown is in either 12-hour or 24-hour clock format (set by the maintainer).
To set the time:
1. Press SET UP and then TIME.
2. Enter the new time in 24-hour format.
3. If entered wrongly, press CANCEL and re-enter.
4. To cancel the change press ANSWER/RELEASE.
5. When finished, press DONE.

That's the answer, only on IP Office the time server must be disabled by using 0.0.0.1 as the timeserver ip address.
The INDeX did not use NTP.
