We have installed a NetWare 5.1 Server with SP3. Since the installation, the server time (set time) has been drifting continuously and sometimes up to a day. When we set the correct time, if monitored daily, we can actually see how the time drifts over the course of a week. The BIOS time is correct. What is causing this problem and how do we go about resolving this issue? Please advise.

Regards,

Claudel

It's a bug in the TIMESYNC.NLM that came in SP3, teh current SP level is 6 for 5.1, but it's still new IMO so download and install SP5.

Also, in your autoexec.ncf, move the lines:
SET TIME ZONE =
SET DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME OFFSET =
so they are below:
SET START OF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME = (APRIL SUNDAY FIRST 2:00:00 AM)
SET END OF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME = (OCTOBER SUNDAY LAST 2:00:00 AM)

This may not help in 5.1, but it does fix a time drift issue in NW6
