I currently have a spreadsheet that is supposed to do some projected time calculations.

In cell a1 I have the number of calls, 8. In b1, the average length of a call, 0:3:25. I multiply both of these cells and get the answer in c1,0:27:20. I have formatted all the time fields to be in the h:mm:ss format. I then want to be able to take the answer in c1 and divide it by 60minutes. This is where I am stuck. I keep on getting 0:00:27 by using the formula =sum(c1/60).

A1 b1 c1 d1
8 0:3:27 0:27:20 0:00:27

Can someone please help me out.

Thank you

Hi,

Why do Dates and Times seem to be so much trouble? faq68-5827

Keep in mind that TIME is part of DATE. Time Values are in units of DAYS.

So to convert the time value in C1 to MINUTES,
[tt]
Minutes: = ([C1] Days) * (24 Hrs/Day) * (60 Min/Hr)
[/tt]

Skip,
