How can i calculate the difference between time in excel?

Exm

Start Time End Time # of Seconds # of Minutes

9:00 18:18 558 9:18


I want the formula to tell me the # of seconds and number of minutes.

Hi Gootz11,

Times are just numbers, so subtraction is all you need, after which you format the results as you want, so ..

Assuming your times are in A1 and B1, put the same formula in both C1 and D1 .. [blue]=B1-A1[/blue]

Then format C1 as [blue][ss][/blue]
and format D1 as [blue][mm][/blue]

Hi,

Just to add to what Tony has stated, Time Value UNITS are in DAYS. Time is the FRACTIONAL part of Date/Time. Your 2 Time Values are 0.375 0.7625.
