Hi there.

I have been searching for the time derivative HTML symbol that is compatible in most browsers. It looks like a single dot above the quantity. The closest thing I could find was the · --but I do not think that is correct.

 
The nature of character-based script suggests that a universal character modifier won't be available.

If that doesn't serve (and I suspect it won't) then you may have to bodge up a graphic - although it won't be easy to make it scale with user preferences without some pretty horrible javascript.
