We have a s8500 and the time is off by 20 minutes and it continues to happen. I'm used to going into the system and using set time but apparently that command doesnt work w/ S8500. What am i doing wrong?

S8xxx servers have to have their time set through the web interface. Use Internet Explorer and the virtual IP address to log into the server. Open the maintenance window and look for the server date/time link in the left column.

Sounds like you are not using an NTP source to keep the time synchronized.

I've actually tried that and the ip address is not found so i'm assuming the ip address needs to be set up on our end to access it through the network.

Do you recommend using the NTP feature to sychnronize? One of our technicians said he doesnt recommend it, he said they had problems with it when it went south?

Is it hard to set up the time synchronization?
