I totally forgot about the time change. I can do this when I get home, but is there a way to ssh into the box and change the system time from a remote location?

i.e., in Windows you can change the system time, and it changes the time in the bios for you so you don't have to restart and do it in the BIOS. Can RedHat be done that way too?

thanks a lot for the help... Hope I was of some help...

Yes, you change the date with /bin/date and when the box reboots/shuts down it always syncs the BIOS clock with the system clock. //Daniel

hello..

I am new to Linux, I am catching on, but the /bin/date is confusing me. I used the help file, but it doesn't say anything about "how" to change the time.

The man is just as cryptic. I am looking at the info file now, and it is beginning to make some sense, but I have no idea what the syntax needs to be...

ya know, I can always just wait untill I get home and so it right in the BIOS, that way I won't mess anything up. hehehe

any suggestions for the Linux Lamer? :p Hope I was of some help...

Code:
/bin/date --set="2002-10-28 18:11:40"
sets the current time on my system ;-) //Daniel
