Does anyone have any information on some TIME AND ATTENDANCE (i.e. clocking systems) hardware manufacturers in the UK?... One company I have heard of is Synel - has anyone worked with this or other company and can give me some reviews/opinions on the best value for money? Thanks.

I work for the IT department in the New York State Unified Court System. We recently instituted an electronic timekeeping system made by Kronos ( Their web site lists United Kingdon, so I assume they have an office in your country. So far, the Kronos system works well here. Good luck.
