Hi there,

I would like to display 4 windows on the desktop, tiled in a grid. I can do this manually by placing the windows where I want them and dragging the corners to resize them, but I'd like to have them click into place already sized.

Any way I can do this? (Preferably without switching to Win7 and using Snap of course! [wink])

One thing in case this doesn't work: ALT+TAB quick switching between open items.

Open any folder and go to the "Tools" Tab and to "Folder Options"
Click the "View" Tab and scroll down. Is "Remember each folders view settings" checked? Mine is and I can re-size all my open windows and position them, close it and it reopens where I left it.

Hi guys and thanks for helping!

I'm trying to have 3 instances of Excel open - not just seperate windows for 3 sheets in 1 workbook, but 3 seperate workbooks - plus one instance of Word.

windows and Vertical Tiling them doesn't really cut it, because I can't see enough of each to make work easy. What would really float my boat is 1/4-size versions of each window, snapped to the corners of the screen. I could do this manually, but an aut version would be great.

I'll have a go with Aerosnap. Thanks rclarke250!

If you want more screen real estate, you might consider using multiple Monitors. That might be an expensive solution though?

If you only have 4 open applications that are active, the right clicking the bottom bar should allow you to Tile Vertically to get your screen to be seen in 4 quarters. Note: you cannot minimize the items before you do this or you'll limit the number of items shown (e.g., if you minimize items (clicking the _ icon in the upper right or clicking the item in the lower toolbar) you prevent the tiling from working. In fact, you can have 10 applications running in the toolbar, but if only 4 are "active" you can still get the quarter-screen tiling)

Hi Guys, and thanks for your input.

I decided to go for a halfway house solution as follows:

1. Ctrl-Click the toolbar buttons for the applications I want to display;

2. Right Click and Tile Cascade - this make them all the same size; then

3. Drag them into place and resize if I need to.

I chickened out of using Aerosnap as it's a Beta product, and my IT people will kick off big style if I install it!
