I have had a problem for some time with the backgrounds in a tiff turning a very light shade of gray when the file is printed to a laser printer or exported as a pdf in PM7 on both my XP and Win2000 computers.
I have tried using an EPS, but that is even worse. Until recently I only used PSE 2 and thought maybe it was an RGB issue.
The problem occurs with both transparent and white canvases.
This summer I got CS2 and am hoping that using a full version of Photoshop saved in CMYK will resolve the issue. My complaint about CMYK is that the output always looks so dark and muddy even after using the Levels command to brighten it up.
Any thoughts? Will this problem disappear when I start using InDesign? Right now I am just in the playing stages with InDesign.
