Tiffs printing inverse/negative

On some of our printers (like HPLJ4100) tiff images come out with white fonts on a black background (these are faxes received through Castelle Faxpress).
Other printers (and they all seem to be older types of HP printers) do not have this problem.

It doesn't matter whether we print it from Kodak Imaging (on W2K machines) or a program like Irfanview from the same computer.

Anyone any idea ?
